What if the character was already a monster or a demon? I understand that their powers get nerfed but do they simply lose their powers or do they actually become humans?
About the non-human physical characteristics. For characters that are canonly monsters, are they also allowed to keep them after the nerfing like the above examples or must they also go since they are linked to their status as monsters?
Also, if we app monsters, how will you decide what they become? Are they automatically barred from re-becoming what they once were? Or will they automatically have to return to their canon monster form?
They will essentially become human. Although some physical characteristics can be kept (horns, fangs, tails, odd skin colors, etc) they won't have powers (or weaknesses) humans don't. Strictly appearance-wise, something like a Homestuck troll would not have to be changed - Transformers, ponies, and the like would have to be humanized. If you're unsure about your specific character you can always ask.
Canon monsters are not barred from becoming what they once were. If you don't want them to become the same type of monster you can opt out of that monster type, though. If you choose not to opt-out of that monster type, they may become the same thing but it's not guaranteed.
